Florence Nightingale National Award – 2014

Dr.Punitha Vijaya Ezhilarasu, Professor and Head of the Departments of Surgical Nursing and Continuing Nursing Education, College of Nursing received the Florence Nightingale National Award – 2014 from the President of India at the Rashtrapathi Bhavan on May 12, 2014 – The International Nurses Day. Dr.Punitha Vijaya Ezhilarasu, is an academician and researcher par excellence. WHO Collaborating Centre for Nursing and Midwifery was established with her efforts. She was instrumental for obtaining five-star rating by NAAC for CMC of Nursing and responsible for getting study centre for National Ph.D. Consortium. She served as WHO Consultant on Nursing Education to Sri Lanka. She is a member of several National Expert Committees on Nursing. She is the founder Editor of Indian Journal of Continuing Nursing Education (IJCNE). She has contributed articles in reputed journals and has authored text books in nursing.
