The vision for a new campus emerged in 2005, driven by the growing patient load at CMC Vellore’s mother campus in Thottapalayam, which had been established in 1924 and was reaching the limits of its capacity. The proposal gained momentum over the years, and in 2016, construction began at Kannigapuram, the village identified as the site for the new campus. Three years ago, nearly two decades after the idea was first conceived, the CMC Vellore Ranipet Campus for quaternary care became a fully functional hospital and campus. Today, its 1,500-bed hospital serves as a centre for advanced healthcare, responding to the evolving needs of patients from Vellore, Ranipet, and the wider region.
With Level 1 trauma care and services spanning 14 super-specialities, the Ranipet Campus has earned the trust of patients from across the state and the country. Its growth reflects CMC Vellore’s 125-year legacy of integrity, excellence, and service.
As the campus continues to expand—with plans including a paediatric speciality centre and accommodation for patients’ families—it remains committed to delivering compassionate, cutting-edge healthcare.
