The new facility is planned to be commissioned in January 2027, with the transition and commencement of functioning of the clinical departments planned in phases during February and March 2027.

MultIdisciplinary Care

This consolidation will facilitate closer collaboration among paediatricians, super-specialists, surgeons, nurses, allied health professionals and other members of the multidisciplinary care team. Envisioned as one of the first comprehensive higher-specialiity paediatric hospitals in India, this centre will enable coordinated and comprehensive care for children with complex and challenging medical conditions, while providing families with access to a wide range of specialist and super-specialist services within a single, child-centered environment.

The paediatric speciality centre is located adjacent to CMC’s 1,200-bedded Super Speciality Hospital at the Ranipet Campus, strategically situated on the NH 48 Chennai–Bengaluru Highway. Its location within the larger Ranipet healthcare campus will facilitate access to advanced diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical and other support services.

A Philanthropic Partnership for the Future

The project has been made possible through the generous support of Fairfax (through the Vellore CMC Foundation) and Quess Corp, along with contributions from other donors and well-wishers.

This partnership reflects a shared vision of creating a lasting healthcare institution that will serve children with complex medical needs and contribute to the advancement of paediatric medicine in India.

The support of Fairfax and Quess Corp represents more than an investment in infrastructure. It is an investment in the health, hope and future of children and families, creating a lasting legacy that will benefit generations to come.

125 Years of CMC Vellore – A Legacy of Service

CMC’s journey began in 1900, with the pioneering vision of Dr. Ida Scudder, whose commitment to caring for women and children laid the foundation for what has grown into one of India’s leading medical institutions.

Over the past 125 years, CMC has evolved into a comprehensive academic medical centre recognised for its commitment to patient care, education, research and service to society.

Throughout its journey, CMC has remained committed to providing high-quality healthcare while serving people with compassion, dignity and a deep sense of responsibility. Its growth has been guided by a vision that brings together medical excellence, education, research and service to humanity. As CMC celebrates 125 years of service and looks towards the future, the 346-bedded Paediatric Speciality Centre stands as a significant milestone in its continuing journey of service, excellence and innovation.
