Applications and Nominations are invited for the post of Head, Centre for Stem Cell Research, (CSCR-inStem), ,a translational unit of the Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine (inStem) , Bengaluru, an autonomous Institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India located on the Bagayam campus of the Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore.
The post is on a contract basis for a period up to 5 years and carries the pay scale of a professor at CMC, Vellore with other allowances and perks allowed for such positions in the institution.
Applicants would typically be expected to have held senior leadership positions managing research in medical / scientific organizations and have 14 years of experience after MD or PhD in relevant research.

Essential
1. MD, MS (Medical) or Ph.D in Life Sciences or equivalent
2. Relevant experience in the area of translational research with emphasis in stem cell biology, regenerative medicine, cell and molecular biology and biotechnology
3. Excellent track record, proven expertise of guiding research activities in these areas.
4. Experience in Science – administration will be an advantage.
5. The incumbent should be capable of running the translational unit as per the MoA between inStem and CMC and in line with the norms and guidelines for functioning of an organisation with Government funding

The Search-cum-Selection Committee is empowered to consider / nominate suitable persons of capability and eminence with lesser experience if otherwise suitable for this position. Pay scale / emoluments will be commensurate with their experience. The maximum age limit for appointment should not exceed 60 years as on the closing date of receipt of nominations / applications.
