Dental & Oral Surgery
The Dental and Oral Surgery department has doctors and technicians who look after the mouth and teeth. They do regular dental (teeth) checks and other procedures. They also make and fit prosthesis. Braces for the teeth are also made to help put teeth straight.
Prosthesis is an appliance which replaces what the body has lost. For dentist this may be a cap to fit on a broken tooth. A bridge to fill in a gap for a lost tooth and dentures to replace teeth are both prostheses. The oral surgery means looking after the inside of the mouth. Ulcers and cancer of the tongue or mouth are two oral problems.
